Government Order issued for the acceptance of the tender for the work "Providing free left turn in Paravur Junction in NH 544 for avoiding traffic congestion-WORK-General Civil Work" in Ernakulam district. Public Works (G) Department. G.O.(Ms) No.33/2026/PWD dated Thiruvananthapuram, 15-03-2026. References: 1. G.O.(P) No. 16/2017/Fin dated 06.02.2017. 2. Order No. A2/819/2024/KRSA dated 29.01.2025. 3. Letters No. CEPWD/20055/2024-AB1(RS)-RD dated 13.02.2026 and 07.03.2026 from the Chief Engineer, PWD Roads Division. Order: Administrative and technical sanction was granted for Rs. 46,48,000/- for the work "Providing free left turn in Paravur Junction in NH 544 for avoiding traffic congestion-WORK-General Civil Work" in Ernakulam district. The work was tendered 5 times from the office of the Superintending Engineer, PWD Roads Division, Central Circle. No bids were received in the first four e-quotations. One bid was received in the fifth e-quotation. The quoted amount is higher than the permissible limit and the contractor is not willing to reduce the rate. The bid submitted by Shri. REJEEV P K for Rs. 44,01,996.20/- (18.47% above the EPAC) is higher than the maximum permissible tender excess as per the conditions in G.O. (P) No. 16/2017/Fin. Considering the poor condition of the road and the traffic congestion, the Government has examined the matter and decided to grant relaxation to the existing norms and approve the tender in favour of Shri.
