Government of Kerala, Cultural Affairs Department - The Government hereby issues an order approving the Kerala State Film Policy, prepared after discussions with individuals from all categories of the film field, taking into account the ideas shared at the Cinema Conclave and the opinions gathered from the public. G.O.(P) No.5/2026/CLAD, Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 14-03-2026. References: 1. G.O.(Ord.) No.357/2023/Cult.Aff.Dept dated 15.07.2023, 2. G.O.(Ord.) No.567/2024/Cult.Aff.Dept dated 30.09.2024, 3. G.O.(Ord.) No.41/2025/Cult.Aff.Dept dated 24.01.2025, 4. Letter No. KSCA/1402/2023 dated 31.01.2026 from the Secretary, Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. Order: A committee was formed as per reference (1) to prepare the draft of the State Government's film policy, and it was reconstituted as per references (2) and (3). The said committee held numerous discussions with about 75 organizations in the film industry and conducted face-to-face meetings with about 500 individuals from all categories related to the film industry. The opinions derived from these interactions were presented as discussion notes at the Kerala Film Policy Conclave held in Thiruvananthapuram on August 2 and 3, 2025. Following the opinions shared at the Film Policy Conclave, which was attended by about 600 film professionals, and the opinions gathered from the public, the draft of the film policy was prepared based on the approach document and submitted to the Government by the Policy Formulation Committee as per reference (4). The Government examined the matter in detail. The Government hereby approves the Kerala State Film Policy (attached as an annexure), prepared after taking into account the discussions with individuals from all categories of the film field, the ideas shared at the Cinema Conclave, and the opinions gathered from the public, and issues an order to that effect.
