Order The prospectus for the 2026-2027 academic year Plus One admission was approved as per reference (1). The Director of General Education requested as per reference (2) to grant permission for temporary additional batches considering the shortage of seats for Plus One admission in the state. 2) Out of a total of 4,44,772 applicants at the state level, there are 43,735 applicants from outside the district. When the second allotment of the main phase was published on June 21, 2026, a total of 2,47,388 applicants received admission/allotment at the state level. Considering the applicants within the district, the number of those remaining for admission at the state level is 1,28,671. Although there are 1,42,300 seats remaining in government and aided schools at the state level, when considering the district-level requirement for government and aided sector seats only, there is a shortage of 2680 seats in Palakkad, 2291 in Kozhikode, 3426 in Malappuram, 14 in Wayanad, 150 in Kannur, and 947 in Kasaragod. 3) The Director of General Education has reported that since applicants wish to get admission in public schools, it would be appropriate to allow additional batches in districts with a high shortage of seats, namely Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, and Kasaragod, considering the situation after completing the main phase allotments. 4) In the above-mentioned situation, the Director of General Education has reported that it would be appropriate to allow a total of 120 batches: 30 in Palakkad, 20 in Kozhikode, 60 in Malappuram, and 10 in Kasaragod. Allowing these 120 batches would entail a minimum financial liability of 17 crore 28 lakh rupees (120 x 4 x 9 months x 40,000 rupees) for one year, with 4 guest teachers per batch. 5) The Government examined the matter in detail. Permission is granted for a total of 120 temporary batches for the year 2026-27 in the state (30 in Palakkad, 20 in Kozhikode, 60 in Malappuram, 10 in Kasaragod) on the condition that teachers must be appointed only on a daily wage basis and subject to the following conditions: 1. First priority to government higher secondary schools with satisfactory physical infrastructure. 2. Consideration for aided schools with satisfactory physical infrastructure in the absence of government schools. 3. Priority can be given to government/aided schools that were excluded when additional batches were allowed since 2016 and currently have only two batches, to allow one additional batch. 4. The requirement should be examined on a taluk basis in areas where there is a shortage of seats. The list should be prepared based on the report submitted by the concerned Regional Deputy Directors after inspection. 6) The Director of General Education is authorized to take necessary steps to address the shortage of Plus One batches in the tribal areas of Wayanad.
