Transport Department - Issuing orders for free travel for women and transgender persons in KSRTC buses under the 'Priyadarshini' scheme as part of the 'Indira Guarantee' scheme. Transport (A) Department, G.O.(Ms) No.16/2026/TRANS, dated Thiruvananthapuram, 11-06-2026. Order: By creating opportunities for all women in our society to travel without limitations, we will build a participatory and vibrant society. To facilitate this, the government has decided to implement a scheme named 'Priyadarshini' as part of the 'Indira Guarantee' scheme, which will enable the increase of women's employment opportunities and their economic and social empowerment. The proposal for implementing the free travel scheme for women in KSRTC services has been submitted by the Chairman & Managing Director of KSRTC as per reference (1). 2. The Government has examined this matter in detail and hereby orders that as the first phase of the 'Priyadarshini' scheme, free travel is permitted for all women and transgender persons in all ordinary services of KSRTC with effect from 15.06.2026 without any discrimination.
