Government of Kerala Abstract Disaster Management Department - Wayanad District - Order issued sanctioning funds to the District Collector, Wayanad, for providing financial assistance to the dependents of those who died and those injured in the landslide disaster at Kalladi Tunnel Phase-3. Disaster Management (B) Department G.O.(Rt) No.298/2026/DMD Date, Thiruvananthapuram, 16-07-2026 Reference:- 1. G.O.(Rt) No. 14/2026/DMD dated 10.07.2026. 2. Report No. DCWYD/4270/2026/DM3 dated 16.07.2026 of the District Collector, Wayanad. Order As per reference (1), it was ordered to provide financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh each to the dependents of those who died in the landslide at Kalladi Tunnel Phase-3 in Wayanad district from the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund, and medical assistance up to Rs. 2 lakh to the injured based on the nature of the injury. As per the report in reference (2), the District Collector, Wayanad, has provided the details of the funds required to be disbursed to the disaster victims. The Government examined this matter in detail. Based on the report in reference (2), sanction is hereby accorded to the District Collector, Wayanad, to release a total of Rs. 58,00,000/- (Rupees Fifty-eight lakh only) from the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund, comprising Rs. 40,00,000/- (Rupees Forty lakh only) for the dependents of 8 deceased persons at Rs. 5 lakh each, and Rs. 18,00,000/- (Rupees Eighteen lakh only) for the dependents of 9 injured persons at Rs. 2 lakh each, subject to the conditions mentioned below. (1) Permission is granted to the District Collector, Wayanad, to deposit the sanctioned ex-gratia financial assistance into the bank accounts made available by the Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) for the concerned beneficiaries. (2) In the case of deceased persons, the sanctioned financial assistance shall be withdrawn only by the legal heirs. For this, the relevant legal heir certificate must be produced, its authenticity verified, and it must be ensured that all existing legal procedures have been completed. The Revenue (DRF-C) Department shall take steps to release the above-mentioned amount to the District Collector, Wayanad. (By order of the Governor) Jeevan Babu K IAS, Special Secretary.
