Government of Kerala, Revenue Department - Kozhikode District - Order issued granting financial assistance from the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund to the dependents of those who died and for the medical expenses of the injured in the accident caused by the collapse of the slab of the building at Valiyangadi. G.O.(Ms) No.164/2026/RD, Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 15-03-2026. Reference: Letter No. DCKKD/1979-2026-F2 dated 12.03.2026 of the District Collector, Kozhikode. Order: In the accident caused by the collapse of the slab of the old Passport Office building at Valiyangadi in Kozhikode district on 23/02/2026, four people died and one person was seriously injured. The victims were from ordinary families and were struggling for daily sustenance. The sudden tragedy has put these families in a major financial crisis. Therefore, the District Collector requested to take steps to grant financial assistance as per government norms to the dependents of the deceased, namely Basheer V. (64 years), Ashraf (57 years), Jabbar V.V. (58 years), Vinod K. (55 years), and to Abdul Jaleel K.P. (Koya) (59 years) who is undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Beach Hospital. 2. The Government examined this matter in detail. It is ordered to grant ₹7 lakh each to the dependents of the deceased [Basheer V. (64 years), Ashraf (57 years), Jabbar V.V. (58 years), Vinod K. (55 years)] and to bear the medical expenses of Abdul Jaleel K.P. (Koya) (59 years) who is undergoing treatment, from the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.
